This is the home of Vortura. The name Vortura comes from the 1994 album by the New Zealand band Bailter Space. You can check out more information about them here. I always liked the sound of the word and the way it looked. So when it came time to select a name under which I would do freelance and consulting work I chose Vortura.

The tagline Design Comes From The Designer, Not The Application is from an article I read several years ago. Basically the idea is that it doesn’t matter what tools or resources you have at your disposal, if you know what you are doing and have the skills you can get things done. At the time I thought it only really applied to design work, but I’ve since come to understand that it applies across many disciplines. Good people get things done regardless of circumstances.
